Enhanced Coarse-Grained WC-Co(Ce) Cemented Carbide Prepared through Co-Precipitation

The exploration of coarse-grained WC cemented carbide has become a research hotspot for its application in the fields rock cutting and mining; key issue is how to achieve uniform dispersion densification sintered phase, as well obtain better mechanical properties. In this paper, chemical co-precipitation, combined with hydrogen reduction, was adopted. CoCl2·6H2O CeCl3 were used precursors coat Co nanoparticles on surface powder while introducing different contents cerium; samples then densified WC-Co(Ce) hard alloy materials. On obtained particles, distribution Co(Ce) dense, average particle size after sintering 4.2 μm, which lies range. addition cerium elements significantly improves flexural strength impact toughness; when content 0.5% 0.6%, they increased 2487 MPa 36.1 kJ/m2, respectively. through co-precipitation method could coating along giving excellent
